Statement of Beliefs
September 28, 2013

For First-Century Apostolic Christians, we recently concluded the observance of the Feast of Tabernacles and the last Great Day, concluding the fall festival season. For those unfamiliar with Christians who observe the weekly Sabbath and Holy Days as provided in the Bible, I thought it would be useful to provide a Statement of Beliefs and to expand over this through the remainder of 2013.

Statement of Beliefs
We believe that Christians are to live a life of faith with works, that to live life of faith without works or to live a life of works without faith is dead.

Consider these verses:

James 1:27
Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.

James 2:14-17
What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him? If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit? Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.

Matthew 22:34-40
But when the Pharisees had heard that he had put the Sadducees to silence, they were gathered together. Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked him a question, tempting him, and saying, Master, which is the great commandment in the law? Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

John 13:34
A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.

A Statement of Beliefs is not intended to fully represent all of our beliefs, and is intended to provide a reasonable summary so that others can succinctly understand what we believe. It can also provide us with a reflective consideration of our own religious faith. For the remainder of 2013 we will more fully examine each of these beliefs. The more we understand who we are and what we believe, the more we can help others understand who we are and what we believe, the more we will be able to celebrate what is good, embrace what is good, and do what is good.

All verses are from the King James Version.
